2023 Donations

2023 was another busy and successful year for the Richmond Lions Club. Here is an overview of the 2023 donations, recycling and what our Lions members and volunteers achieved.

Members and Volunteers
45+ Lion members and volunteers, working approximately 1,600 hours per month, approximately 17,500 hours for the year.

Donations
This year, three (3) main projects were supported. 

  1. Australian Lions Foundation (ALF) including support for flood relief and assistance.
  2. Medical Projects, including support for the Mary Potter Foundation, Ronald McDonald House and Australian Lions Hearing Dogs.
  3. Local Projects & Programs including education and engagement of youth programs in the Charles Sturt, West Torrens and Marion council areas.

Approximately fifty (50) organisations received a financial donation, as nominated by our Lions members and volunteers. Small grants were also awarded in response to requests.

Between ten (10) and fifteen (15) organisations received donated items to support their activities during 2023. These organisations included:

  • Edwardstown Lions Club – toiletries
  • Adelaide Day Centre – furniture, bed linen, blankets, sleeping bags, quilts and clothing
  • Salvos
  • St Vinnies
  • Second Chances SA
  • Reborn
